Are you interested in really living in a Torah society? What do you think a Torah society would look like?
What if nearly every social construct of our daily lives is wrong? What if the things that pass for compassion and justice are actually the flourishing of evil in our midst? Are you interested in Torah society now?
There is a land that belongs not to humans, but to the Almighty Creator.
Leviticus 25:23
“But the land shall not be sold permanently, because the land is MINE; because you are aliens and visitors with ME!”
Think hard about that. Humans are aliens and visitors with the Almighty Creator when they place their feet on the soil of that land. Where is the respect for that idea today? Where is the awe, the appreciation, the humility, for living as a society on that piece of real estate today?
What are the rules when you choose to live on land that belongs to the Almighty Creator?
Here is the bill of rights for humans that desire to build a society on that land: TORAH
Fairly simple eh? Are you interested it a Torah society? Would you like to live in the land?
Here are some things you will experience in this land.
- Racism
- Segregation
- Discrimination
- Slavery
- Negation of Women’s Rights
- Legislated Behavior
- Death Penalties
- Restitution Penalties
- Equality Between Rich and Poor
- True Justice
- Isolationist Trade Practices
Egads!! Say it isn’t so? Call the UN! This is intolerable.
No, this is TORAH.
Are you interested in a society of racism? Defined as: Race – a family, tribe, people, or nation belonging to the same stock
This land is the inheritance of a bloodline of people, descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Gen 15:18 In that day, YHVH made a covenant with Abram, saying: “I’ve given this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the big river, the river Euphrates.”
- This land is passed to Isaac in Gen. 26:1-5.
- This land is passed to Jacob in Gen. 28:13:15
While it may not be sold in perpetuity, neither can the descendents lose their piece of it either. All possessions of property must be returned in the Yovel, or Jubilee year (Lev. 25). This keeps it in the family even through duress, fiscal irresponsibility and hard times. Can you imagine knowing you could never lose a place to live?
Land possession is determined therefore, by race. Today most people would call that racism.
Are you interested in a society of segregation? Defined as: To separate or set apart from others or from the general mass; the separation or isolation of a race, class, or ethnic group by enforced or voluntary residence in a restricted area, by barriers to social intercourse, by separate educational facilities, or by other discriminatory means
There is a class of people, also determined by bloodline, which is segregated from the general population of the descendents of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – The Levites, which also contains yet another segregated bloodline - The Priests (Kohenim). Num 8:14-22
If you want to live in the land that the Almighty Creator owns, you will give a tenth of your increase to the Levites. If you make an offering of any kind, part of it will belong to the Priests. You don’t get to vote; you don’t get to decide if you like them or want to obey them – they are established without your involvement. They get to go places that you cannot; and the penalty for trying to go to those places is death. There is no appeal process, no court review.

I would argue the ‘Negation of Women’s Rights’. Can you give evidence of this in Torah?
My phrasing was poor in simply choosing ‘negation of women’s rights’; perhaps a better way to state it would be that the perception is that women’s rights are curtailed or negated in light of feminism, when Torah is examined by people in modern society.
I will address that in one of the future postings.
